Undated turn-of-century edition of First series stated, a 2 book set of 5 volumes [book I, Vols 1 & 2; book II, Vols. 3, 4 & 5], out-of-print hardbacks in sage-green morocco, Crown octavo over 7.5x5inches, xvi + 150. xv + 160, xv + 160, xv + 160, xv + 160 pp respectively plus 8 pp indexes of English Names, Botanical Names, Table of Orders & Genera, with full-colour plates (200) & decorative tail-pieces throughout both volumes, boards are clean with some sunning of spine & dulling of gilt, raised bands, top-edge gilt, heavy boards with only mild shelf-rub at bottom edges and little fray at spine heads, front inner hinges strained though both are firm tight copies, especially first gathering of vol.1, no inscriptions, aec, some age-discoloration in gutters o/w blocks are clean & bright with occasional faint spotting or minor blemish, excepting accidental spillage of green ink affecting just 4 pgs + 1 plate of vol.2 o/w overall near VG.
