Illustrated edition, out-of-print hardback in protected highly decorative gilt-tooled boards with gentleman's figure cartouche on upper, Foolscap 4to, xi + 599 pp, colour frontis & title page, with 21 colour illustrations by Charles Edward Brock as called for, all prints protected with captioned tissue-guard which are all intact & undamaged with some pale browning, blue cloth/gilt on upper board quite bright, though spine dulled with cloth fade and rubbed extremities, hinges ok though a little slack from strained gutter, endpapers browned with a couple of coloured single letter embellishments, edges foxed & dusty with only top-edge trimmed, some foxing throughout with some browned gutters, single closed/repaired edge nick p 104 o/w textblock overall clean & bright & all prints unblemished, thus a good copy as described. New illustrated edition [1926], out-of-print hardback in protected highly decorative gilt-tooled boards with female portrait cartouche on upper, Foolscap 4to, xi + 493 pp, colour frontis & title page, with 24 colour illustrations by Charles Edward Brock as called for, all prints captioned & protected with tissue-guard which are all intact & undamaged, red cloth gilt on upper board very bright, on spine less bright, small closed nick to spine head o/w only negligible rub at extremities & boards virtually unmarked, firm hinges, endpapers slightly shadowed & very clean, dated owner's inscription on free front endpaper that has ghosted onto flyleaf, top-edge slightly tanned foredges untrimmed, only very occasional spot o/w textblock clean & bright & all prints unblemished, thus a very good copy as described. near VG.
